MINUTES OF SPECIAL BOARD MEETING November 29, 2007 The
Special Board Meeting of the Nevada State Board of Nursing was called to order
by President Helen Vos, MS, RN, on November 29, 2007, by videoconference at the
locations of Nevada State Board of Nursing, 2500 W. Sahara Ave, #207, Las Vegas,
NV 89102, and Nevada State Board of
Nursing, 5011 Meadowood Mall Way #300, Reno, NV

PUBLIC COMMENT: There was no public comment.
D. DISCIPLINE PROGRAMS
1. Settlement agreements a. This item was removed from the agenda. 2. Formal administrative hearings a. Hodges, Robert, RN50846, CRNA000284: Respondent was present with counsel. It was moved and seconded the Board find the respondent guilty of violating NRS 632.320 (7) unprofessional conduct, and five counts of NAC 632.890 (24) failing to collaborate with health care team, one count of (25) failing to observe/report, three counts of (27) customary standards of practice, three counts of (28) causing harm to a patient, and three counts of (33) abuse/neglect of a patient. It was moved and seconded the Board issue an Order of Probation for two years to include all standard practice stipulations to include that another Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist shall supervise his practice. It was further ordered that he complete a Board approved 30 contact hour communication skills/conflict resolution skills course, and the Nevada Nurse Practice Act course within the first twelve months of the execution of the Order, and a Board approved 30 contact hour patient advocacy/patient’s rights course, and a professional boundaries course presented by Board staff prior to termination of probation. It was moved and seconded the Board order the disciplinary action become part of the Respondent’s permanent record and be published and reported to all appropriate agencies. Pursuant to NRS 622.400, it was moved and seconded the Board charge the Respondent with the actual attorney fees and costs of the hearing, which are payable within one hundred twenty days (120) from issuance of the actual costs.
